Thin-Film PV Maker SoloPower Raises $20 Million in Convertible Debt
San Jose, Calif. — SoloPower , a privately held developer of compliant, thin-film photovoltaic cells and modules, has raised $20 million in convertible debt, according to a new filing by the assembly with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Founded in 2006 , SoloPower is manufacturing high-efficiency copper-indium-gallium-selenide (CIGS) based devices that make up solar electricity at a cost that is competitive with traditional methods of photovoltaic production, according to the company.
