California PV company claims 25 percent conversion efficiency

A new solar cell sketch from Santa Barbara, California-based Solar3D, Inc. can convert a little over 25 percent of sunlight it absorbs into tenseness based on simulated tests recently.

In a statement, Jim Nelson, the company's chief executive, said they are looking for a manufacturing fellow to bring the technology to the market.

"If the results of our tests hold up in fabrication, as we expect, then our product's performance will be among the very highest conversion efficiencies achieved by silicon solar cells," he said.

Solar3D cells are designed to trap photons inside micro structures, maximizing how much electricity it can produce. Reactionary solar cells let sunlight pass through it one time.
