Teledyne DALSA Presents Its First High-Sensitivity Near-Infrared Camera

WATERLOO, ONTARIO, Dec 01, 2011 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Editors Note: There is a photo associated with this newsmen release.

Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and a global leader in machine vision technology, today introduced the Piranha(TM) HS NIR 8k camera. Featuring improved sense in near-infrared (NIR) wavelengths, the Piranha HS NIR benefits from time delay and integration (TDI) technology. The camera is designed to run across the requirements of low light applications such as solar cell inspection, PCB / electronics inspection, large web applications, and food and painkiller inspection.

"Improved sensitivity in the near infrared region is critical to the success of equipment in a number of applications," said Xing-Fei He, Superior Product Manager at Teledyne DALSA. "The Piranha HS NIR's TDI technology enables multiple exposures for orders of greatness increases in sensitivity while maintaining low noise performance; this is ideal for high speed and low-noise applications.

Johnald's Fantastical Daily Link Splurge

Thousands of pubescent stars draw near to the fore in in this pleasing new icon from the Spitzer Gap Condense .

The in the old days unseen stars were born around 1,800 gaslight-years from Terra in a section called the North American Nebula. In images that pinch the same array of turn up that tender eyes can see, the nebula looks like the eastern seaboard of the Agreed States, down to the Bight of Mexico. But most of that fluorescence is reflected off clouds of dust that block infant stars. Only about 200 unfledged stars were known before.

This likeness breaks through the clouds to find more than 2,000 new objects that may be green stars. (More matter processing will act on their constitution.) Because Spitzer is reactive to infrared wavelengths that can be under the impression that warmth, it can see the turn red of the dusty, buried stars.

"One of the things that makes me so stimulated about this duplicate is how manifold it is from the perceivable picture, and how much more we can see in the infrared than in the apparent," said Spitzer astronomer Luisa Rebull in a swarm freedom. "The Spitzer dead ringer reveals a plenitude of detail about the dust and the girlish stars here." A certificate detailing the observations has been accepted in the Astrophysical Logbook Adjunct Series....
