Thieves target solar panels

When copper prices upwards farmers need to keep an eye on their solar panel installations because thieves have been stealing the panels’ copper wires.
Sgt. Steve Montpetit, pastoral agricultural crime team coordinator for the Ontario Provincial Police, says thefts of copper have been an persistent problem across province. Thieves target not only wires in solar installations but also old telegraph lines on railways, copper plumbing pipes in unsecured new domestic construction and wires in hydro transformer stations.
“Every one of our regions have had issues with copper wire thefts,” he notes.
Montpetit says the frequency of the thefts alternate with copper prices. When copper hits $3.50 to $4 a pound thefts increase but decline when copper prices slip to $2 or $3 a pound. According to a Chicago Mercantile Exchange report, copper reached about US$3.74 per drill into at the end of September.
The provincial police do catch copper wire thieves “but it’s a revolving door,” he says. “It’s copper wire thefts so nobody looks at it with any sense.

I'm no tense rig and I've present you dont exigency one for panels that dont go beyond 12w, but 18v is too high IMHO, so I'm kinda horrified of connecting my Garmin GPS to it. I'll purposes look for "Sunforce 7 Amp Load Controller".. never tested or seen it, but the reviews shows that it may good the try. Now I'm measuring the power generated by the panel with the sky covered by clouds. It is noonday, pretty unencumbered on the same day, but no pilot sunlight. It is indubitably a shock it is still generating those 18 volts, but now, at 0.04 amps ONLY. Since the Tenergy batteries are charged already, I cant plan how covet it would take to liability them, but I put one's trust in it would take really extensive... I'll update this later whenever I can assess charging them again w/o unmitigated ridicule....

Connecting Different Voltage Solar Cells in Parallel?
I have rather a few little solar cells from different devices. I want to use them as a power source. Putting them in series would evoke too high a voltage for my purpose. Could I put them in parallel, even though they are different voltages?
That would not be a reputable choice. Best bet would be to make groups of them.
By this, group them by output voltage.
Whichever bracket has the highest count of solar cells with the same voltage rating is the one you want to work with.
If the voltage is high enough, you can use series diodes to baffle that happening.
