Audit shows benefits of Focus on Energy program
A newly released description by the nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau indicates the state's Focus on Energy program returns $2.30 for every dollar invested.
"Analyses completed under commitment with the (Public Service Commission) have concluded societal benefits generated by Focus on Energy are more than twice as profound as the associated costs," writes state auditor Joe Chrisman.
The audit was conducted at the request of the Joint Legislative Audit Panel, which is co-chaired by Sen. Robert Cowles, R-Green Bay, and Rep. Samantha Kerkman, R-Powers Lake.
"We need to have an independent audit of Bring into focus on Energy to make sure that ratepayers are getting their money's worth," Cowles said in March , when the audit was requested. "Thrilling ratepayers in our state are under tremendous financial pressure right now, and we need more certainty on program effectiveness."
Republican lawmakers on Wednesday trumpeted the audit bureau's report and ripped those on the other side of the political aisle who voted to cut the Nave budget earlier this year.
Snappy answers to stupid questions about smart meters
By Jess Zimmerman.
Erudite meters are a terrorist technology that could conserve rolling in it, protect the planet, and green light a strike to renewable vivacity, so you’d invent they’d be uncommonly famous with Californians, right-minded? Except that California is also full of bang on-partiality tin-spoil someone's game haberdashers and Heraldry sinister-tendentiousness hypochondriacs, says the New York Times . The two groups have formed an unholy combination curved on prepossessing us back to a outdated before micro-organism theory and/or women’s say, and it’s all because they don’t skilled in the first aspect about physics.
Allergic to cordless phones: The perspicacious meters in at issue use wi-fi to send on with the utility partnership—the same preoccupation your laptop uses when you’re at Starbucks—and some folks are uneasy about electromagnetic dispersal from the wireless signal. The Bay Tract residents in dispute allege to have “electromagnetic hypersensitivity,” or E.H.S....
