Soltecture begins production of 13.4% efficient CIGS modules
Soltecture manufactures these 100 watt "Linion" modules at its motion line in Berlin. The company also announced that has achieved ISO 9001 certification, which it says confirms its high television and service standards.
"Today’s peak results are a very clear confirmation of our technology roadmap," explains Soltecture CEO Nikolaus Meyer.
"With our evolvement work, we are on the best track to reaching the next milestone we have set for ourselves: 14 percent efficiency! We will reach that by mid-2012 at the latest."
Soltecture on course to reach 16% efficiency
Soltecture states that concrete projects needed to reach a 16% efficaciousness goal have already been tackled and drafted.
CIGS is the only thin-film PV technology to reach 20% conversion efficiency under laboratory conditions. On November 29th, 2011, Q-Cells SE (Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Germany) announced a CIGS submodule with a 17.4% crevice area efficiency, a world record for CIS.
