Just to give them a name: I like the metaphor of a cat lying in the sun all day so "Sun Cat" would be a good battery name. Right now there is no sun (in fact it is snowing), so i'll post a sunny picture at a later date.
I had some older NiMH batteries from a broken batterypack that was perfect for the suncharged batteries project.
The key to this project is a new process of producing flexible solar cells (Photo Voltaic). During my research for my master thesis i got in touch with researchers at IFE that supplied me with these samples of PV cells. Thanks!
These are rated at 1,8V and was easily produced at a size perfect for C - cell batteries
I used a rather sticky glue on this first cell, but went with just cyanoacrylat (super glue) with the rest.
