SunPower picks up French solar company, sells bigger stake to majority stockholder
SunPower ( SPWRA ) will buy French solar provider Tenesol for $165.4 million, the San Jose solar producer announced Friday, and offset the cost by selling a new offering of stock to its majority stockholder and Tenesol's origin company, Total.
SunPower, which has weathered the solar-energy storm that claimed Solyndra by offering solar panels with higher efficiency than those made in China and elsewhere, inherits a followers that has operations in 18 countries, along with manufacturing facilities in France and South Africa.
Once the deal is complete, French oil Amazon Total -- which purchased 60 percent of SunPower earlier this year for $1.38 billion -- will stretch its investment in the Silicon Valley company, purchasing a private offering of 18.6 million shares for $8.80 apiece, a 50 percent incitement over SunPower's stock price at Thursday's closing. The stock sale will bring SunPower $163.7 million, exactly the same amount it will pay for Tenesol, and give Total a 66 percent stake in the San Jose company.

how to prepare homemade solar cells of high efficiency?
i am uncommonly interested in preparing a simple, homemade solar cell n in turn connecting them to form a panel. i also wanna arse about the cost. its gotcha be lower in cost and higher in efficiency.
Unless you can get someone else to buy it for you, it's not universal to be lower in cost. You can't really beat a commercial panel, unless it's a setup that doesn't have to last more than a shorten amount of time.
